A LAKEVIEW HOME IS BROUGHT TO LIFE WITH
A BIT OF MID-CENTURY MAGIC.
In the highly-coveted neighbourhood of Lakeview Village in Calgary, this two-storey home underwent a vibrant transformation. Though the home had been renovated a few years prior by the previous owners, it lacked the cozy liveability and textural layers they craved.
Our goal was to infuse the home with the warmth, character, and dynamic colour palette of a classic mid-century home.
Design Highlights:
The Parlour: A colour-drenched oasis, this space is wrapped in deep teal walls, creating a cozy and inviting area for reading and conversation. Custom bookshelves and floor-to-ceiling windows flank the back wall, and the clients’ grand piano and art collection take center stage.
The Kitchen: The centrepiece of the home, this kitchen features a raked plaster range hood, a Fireclay tile backsplash, and a walnut slatted island with stone counter. The combination of textural and earthy elements strikes a perfect balance between bold and timeless.
The Dining Room: The dining room boasts a hand-painted mural that serves as a conversation starter and personal expression of the homeowners’ eclectic taste.
The Primary Suite: The primary bedroom was completely transformed with a new vaulted ceiling and skylights, a green raked plaster feature wall, and wall-to-wall drapery. The en suite, a colorful and vibrant space, also received a new vaulted ceiling with cedar tongue and groove paneling.
Every space was designed with intention, bringing together a mix of custom elements, vintage details, and a bold palette that defines the home’s personality. This Lakeview Village home now feels like an elevated reflection of its owners and a true celebration of mid-century charm.
