In Spring 2023, local supplier Divine Flooring reached out to us to be a part of their showroom redesign, and we jumped at the opportunity.
Six local designers were each given a distinct style (traditional, modern, minimalist, rustic, luxe, and vintage) as well as a room type (hotel lobby, mudroom, pantry, yoga studio, wine room, and cafe) and asked to redesign a vignette in that style using Divine’s product.
We drew “rustic wine room”, and though it wouldn’t have been our first choice, we rose to the challenge to create a vignette that felt unique and special, and reinvented the typical rustic look. We used Divine’s Escambert wirebrushed hardwood in new ways — not only flooring, but also wine cubbies and wood ceiling beams — and paired it with textured plaster, a showstopping Dekton backsplash/countertop, and a brick-look Centura tile.
All of the finishes and fixtures were chosen with one thing in mind: to reinvent the idea of “rustic”, and inspire homeowners, renovators, trades, and other designers to think outside the box and create something that hasn’t been seen before.
