A MINIMAL + MODERN PRESCHOOL

THAT FEELS LIKE A SAFE HAVEN.

When Akidemy opened in 2014, they were a brand new business and had to do the interior on a budget. But 6 years later, when they were forced to close for a few months due to COVID-19, they decided to make the best of it and give the space a makeover.

The interior was naturally bright, but the layout wasn’t quite right, it lacked storage, and it didn’t have a focal point. We aimed to give them a space that felt modern, clean, and calm, while still being a welcoming space for kids… all without introducing the typical primary colours, chalkboards, and juvenile decor.

Akidemy isn’t your average preschool. You won’t find walls covered in plastic ABC charts, cheap toys scattered around, or a cluttered + flashy environment. It’s bright, clean, and filled with textural and natural items that encourage innate curiosity and understanding.
